Meetings

The Transboundary Management Guidance Committee (TMGC) convenes working meetings to deliberate over and develop guidance for consistent management of transboundary resources. These meetings are attended by members of TMGC and invited experts. The TMGC also presides over public consultations to receive information from fishermen about management considerations for transboundary resources.

  • In the interest of time, oral comment periods may be limited during the course of the meeting. The meeting agenda may also stipulate specific times for public comment periods.
  • The length of oral statements may be monitored or limited.
  • Canadian and U.S. delegations may continue to hold private working sessions for delegation members only.
  • Meeting proceedings may not be publicized prior to the official report of the TMGC unless otherwise agreed upon by the TMGC co-chairs.
